Sunday: Our port of call today is the ancient Hanseatic city of Tallinn which is proud of its beautiful churches, solid limestone houses and well preserved cobbled streets. Take time to visit the Toompea Hill with its medieval houses and alleyways in the oldest part of the city and the ornate Alexander Nevsky Cathedral should not be missed.
Monday/Tuesday: Today we dock in St Petersburg. This Russian city is one of the highlights of the cruise and is home to the spectacular Winter Palace with over 1000 rooms making it the most magnificent of the 6 buildings that make up the Hermitage Museum. The city is built on 40 islands at the mouth of the River Neva and is a captivating city with its baroque palaces, wide elegant streets, ornate bridges and broad curving canals. (please note if you wish to make your own way in Russia you will need a visa which must be obtained prior to leaving the UK)
Wednesday: Today we visit Helsinki in Finland, a city re-created by the Tsars of Russia as a mini St. Petersburg. Surrounded by sea on 3 sides and with a beautiful archipelago forming the city centre, the city has a very special atmosphere and many interesting attractions.
Thursday: This morning we stop at Turku. Turku has a long history as Finland's largest city and occasionally as the administrative centre of the country, but has, over the last two centuries, lost both titles to Helsinki. To this day, the city's identity stems from its status as the oldest city in Finland and the country's first capital.
Friday: Time to relax and enjoy the day as we cruise back towards Demark.
Saturday: Today’s destination is the wonderful city of Copenhagen. You can visit the beautiful Tivoli Gardens, northern Europe’s premier amusement park, the former sailor’s district of Nyhavn with its gabled houses and outdoor restaurants lining the picturesque fishing harbour and canal. There are several spectacular churches, such as the church of St. Saviour in Christianshavn, which has a golden staircase winding up the outside of a tower that is topped by a golden globe.
Sunday: Our final port of call is Aalborg, which is the fourth largest city in Denmark. Here you will find narrow streets, beautiful old houses, fascinating museums and other attractions, good restaurants and excellent shopping possibilities.
Monday: A final day to relax as we cruise back to the UK.
Tuesday: After breakfast disembarkation usually starts about 9.30am and we will be waiting to take you back home.
