Madeira is one of Europe’s most beautiful travel locations that offers an all year round summer climate and wonderful fauna and flora. From stunning parks and gardens with exotic flowers to seascapes with blue oceans and towering cliffs, to rustic villages in quiet valleys to seriously good views and sheer mountains whose lofty peaks are higher than Scotland’s, we see them all!
Monday: We start your holiday by collecting you from your home address and making our way to Stansted for the flight to Madeira, our Simonds tour guide will accompany the tour throughout. On arrival at Madeira we will be met by our local representative who will provide the transfer to our hotel.
Tuesday: After breakfast we meet in the lounge area where your Simonds representative will be on hand to give you all the hotel and local information needed to ensure you have a great holiday. Our day continues with a half day guided tour of Funchal the capital of Madeira, on a local coach. Our return to the hotel takes us via a wine cellar for tasting some of Madeira’s very famous wine.
Wednesday: Today we enjoy a visit to Porto Moniz where we enjoy an included lunch. Porto Moniz is a charming little town that is perched on the dramatic north western tip of Madeira, a region comprised of towering mountains and views over endless deep blues of the Atlantic Ocean. Porto Moniz has long been famous for its natural swimming pools, surrounded by large and small lava rocks nestling in the sea, where they are filled by the tide with crystal-clear water.
Thursday: Today we enjoy a half day tour. First travel to the Nun’s Valley, nestled in the heart of Madeira, surrounded by tremendous mountains and unimaginable beauty. Our day will continue with a visit to the gardens at Palheiro, famous not only for the variety of plants that grow there but for the beauty of their setting in the hills to the east of Funchal. Madeira has long been called the "Garden Isle" and it seems that almost anything will grow in its fertile soil.
Friday - Sunday: Free time to explore this beautiful island at your leisure. Please see your Simonds representative for a list of optional excursions available.
Monday: Sadly time to check-out of our hotel for the transfer back to the airport and our flight back to the UK where our coach will be waiting to take us back home.
