The Cotswold’s have an abundance of stunning villages and chocolate-box cottages. We visit some of the most beautiful on this tour. A journey on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway is also included.
Good Friday: After collecting you from local pick-up points we make our way to our hotel. We make a stop in Oxford en route. On our arrival at our hotel we are welcomed with a tea/coffee and cookie whilst the luggage is taken to our rooms.
Saturday: After breakfast enjoy Gloucester at your leisure. Explore its many attractions which include the glorious medieval Gloucester Cathedral used in most of the Harry Potter films as Hogwarts School of Witchcraft. In the afternoon we visit the Victorian docks and explore the award winning Gloucester Waterways Museum which overlooks the River Severn
Easter Sunday: This morning we head to Cheltenham where we board the train for a gentle journey on the Heritage Railway through the lovely Cotswold countryside to Toddington. We rejoin the coach for a lovely scenic drive through beautiful Cotswold’s villages. Our route takes in Broadway, often referred to as the ‘Jewel of the Cotswolds, Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water, regularly voted as one of the prettiest villages in England. There will be time to explore some of these quintessential English villages before returning to our hotel.
Easter Monday: After checking out of our hotel, we visit historic Lacock. Set in rural Wiltshire, the Abbey and village are famous for picturesque streets, historic buildings and its huge popularity as a filming location, appearing in Harry Potter films, Pride & Prejudice, Cranford Chronicles, Emma and recently in the filming of Fantastic Beasts. From here we make our way back home to East Anglia.
The Doubletree by Hilton Swindon is set in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside. All rooms have air-conditioning, TV and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel has a lift and Wi-Fi access is available.
