South Devon and the English Riviera with its classic seaside resorts, stunning scenery and picturesque villages, is a favourite place with our passengers to holiday in the UK.
Monday: From our local departure points we start our journey to Torquay on the English Riviera. We are welcomed with a cup of tea or coffee on arrival at our hotel.
Tuesday: Today we travel to Brixham, a traditional fishing port with pretty colour-washed cottages and narrow winding streets, rows of colourful boats can be found in its beautiful harbour including a replica of Sir Francis Drakes Golden Hind, the vessel he used to circumnavigate the globe.
Wednesday: Our visit today takes us to Paignton and the Dartmouth Steam Railway; we board the train here for the journey to Kingswear along the beautiful stretch of the Devonshire coastline and countryside. From here we catch the foot passenger ferry to the historic maritime town of Dartmouth where you have a little free time to explore before you re-join the coach for a picturesque tour through the Dartmoor National Park, famous for its ponies and stunning scenery.
Thursday: Today is at leisure to enjoy the facilities at the hotel or discover the delights that Torquay has to offer. Maybe take a stroll along the palm lined promenade or pay a visit to the Princess Pier or gardens; a perfect place to relax with a cream tea. A complimentary taxi service operates from the hotel to the harbour in the morning, returning in the afternoon.
Friday: This morning we check-out of the hotel and make our way home to East Anglia.
The Headland Hotel & Spa sits majestically on a headland looking out to sea in one of the most beautiful parts of Torquay. If you’re travelling alone, you are guaranteed to be seated at the window with an empty seat to the side of you.
