This wonderful cruise takes in many famous sites along the mighty Rhine River and allows ample time to explore each of the destinations we stop at. This holiday is one of the most popular we operate and early booking is very highly recommended to avoid disappointment.
Saturday: After collecting you from your home address we make our way to Folkestone for the Eurotunnel crossing to Calais and then onward through France and Belgium to Germany where we will board our ship in Cologne.
Sunday: Our ship will depart Cologne early morning and cruise down the river to Andernach arriving early afternoon. You will have the rest of the day to explore Andernach at your leisure. Here you will find stunning sights like the 56 metre tall “Runde Turm” (round tower), Mariendom (Cathedral of Mary) and the old crane on the Rhine River front.
Monday: This morning we will depart Andernach and gently cruise along the river to Cochem which lies in the most romantic part of the Moselle Valley, where the river curves between two hiking paradises – Eifel and Hunsrück. Take the opportunity to visit the old town with its famous wall, just one of the many attractions Cochem has to offer.
Tuesday: Today, after breakfast we depart Cochem and continue our cruise down the Rhine to Boppard arriving mid-afternoon. You will have the remainder of the day to explore Boppard at your leisure. You may like to take a stroll along the promenade, visit the old town or perhaps visit the viewpoints where the chair lift goes to Vierseenblick, Gideonseck.
Wednesday: Today we cruise on to Rudesheim arriving around lunch time. The afternoon is free to explore the area at your own pace. There are an abundance of attractions in Rudesheim as well as a nice town centre.
Thursday: Our cruise this morning takes us to Koblenz where again you will have the afternoon to explore the town. Koblenz is an ancient city in central Germany and a gateway to the terraced vineyards and ruined castles of the Rhine Gorge. In the centre, a monumental statue of William the Great marks the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle rivers. A cable car connects to the hilltop Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, which hosts museums and cultural events.
Friday: Our final destination is the town of Königwinter which is just a short cruise from Koblenz. We have time to explore here, before re-joining the ship around mid-day for the final leg of our journey as we cruise back to Cologne. We arrive here around mid-afternoon allowing you to have the remainder of the afternoon free in Cologne.
Saturday: Sadly our Rhine Cruise comes to an end and we must make our way back home to East Anglia.
Your ship for this tour will be the MV Prinses Christina which has been designed to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
