When you book a holiday with Simonds, every penny you pay us is protected. We have been looking after our passengers since 1927, and we want you to book with complete confidence.
All Simonds coach holidays are covered by our Travel Regulation Insolvency Protection insurance, underwritten by AXA Insurance UK plc and arranged by Everywhen Travel. This gives you the financial protection required by the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018, which means:
- Your money is safe. If Simonds were ever unable to provide your holiday because of our insolvency, the money you have paid for it would be refunded to you.
- You would be brought home. If you were already away when that happened, the cost of bringing you back to the UK would be covered.
- Every passenger is covered. Protection applies automatically to everyone named on a Simonds holiday booking, and there is nothing extra to pay.
What this means for you
You do not need to do anything. Your protection is included in the price of every Simonds coach holiday and applies from the moment you pay your deposit. There are no forms to fill in and no extra charges.
This protection is in place solely to cover you against the financial failure of Simonds. It does not replace travel insurance, which we strongly recommend for every holiday. Travel insurance covers things like cancellation for personal reasons, medical treatment, lost luggage and delays, none of which are covered by insolvency protection.
Who provides the protection
Our policy is underwritten by AXA Insurance UK plc, one of the UK's largest insurers, authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority. It is arranged by Everywhen Travel, a trading name of Advisory Insurance Brokers Limited, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
Which bookings are covered
Protection applies to all Simonds coach holidays that include at least one night's accommodation. Day excursions are not package holidays and are not covered by this policy, which is why the small print on our day trips reads differently.
