A coach business that started life as a Suffolk garage in 1927.
Roland Oswald Simonds opened a car repair workshop in Botesdale, Suffolk in 1927. Buses arrived a decade later. Sheppard of Rickinghall's road service licences and two Bedford buses transferred in December 1937, and the first new Simonds coach was supplied in June 1939.
Today, nearly a century on, Simonds operates from a purpose-built depot at Roswald House, Oak Drive in Diss, with a 12-bay workshop, DVSA Authorised Testing Facility, and conference facilities. In May 2024 the business became part of the Transport Made Simple Group, sister to Central Connect and Flagfinders, with the existing Simonds team in Diss continuing the day-to-day operation.
