Day by day

  1. Day 1

    Monday

Depart from your local pick-up point and travel to South Wales, arriving at the Parkway Hotel & Spa in the late afternoon. After settling into your room, enjoy dinner and relax ahead of the days to come.

  2. Day 2

    Tuesday

This morning we visit the Welsh capital, Cardiff. A vibrant and modern city with a rich history, Cardiff offers a wealth of attractions including the impressive Cardiff Castle, the iconic Principality Stadium, and the revitalised waterfront at Cardiff Bay. Enjoy free time to explore, shop, or relax in one of the city’s many cafés and restaurants. This afternoon we visit the magnificent Tredegar House, one of the finest historic houses in Wales. Set within extensive parkland and beautiful gardens, this striking red-brick mansion offers a fascinating insight into over 500 years of Welsh history and aristocratic life.

  3. Day 3

    Wednesday

Today begins with a visit to Cyfarthfa Castle Museum and Art Gallery. Surrounded by attractive gardens and parkland, the museum tells the story of Merthyr Tydfil’s industrial heritage, from Roman times through to the Industrial Revolution, while also housing impressive art collections and exhibitions. This afternoon we journey through the beautiful scenery of South Wales to the historic market town of Brecon. After time to explore at leisure, we enjoy a relaxing one-way cruise on the picturesque Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, taking in the tranquil countryside from the water.

  4. Day 4

    Thursday

This morning we visit the popular seaside town of Barry. Known for its golden beaches and its starring role in the television series Gavin & Stacey, Barry offers an attractive mix of coastal scenery, independent shops, cafés, and attractions. You may also wish to explore nearby Barry Island. Later, we visit Glyndwr Vineyard, Wales’s oldest vineyard. During a guided tour, you’ll learn about the winemaking process, explore the vineyard, and even meet the resident llamas. The visit concludes with a wine tasting accompanied by a platter of locally sourced produce.

  5. Day 5

    Friday

After breakfast, we bid farewell to South Wales and begin our journey home, taking with us wonderful memories of historic landmarks, scenic countryside, and warm Welsh hospitality.
