What a perfect location! Just a couple of miles from stunning Loch Lomond, our tour takes in some of the most scenic spots in The Trossachs National Park, including Luss, Callander, Loch Katrine and of course, Loch Lomond. We also visit the magnificent Inveraray Castle, Scotland’s iconic Kelpies and the Falkirk wheel.

Saturday: From local departure points we make our way to our overnight hotel in Preston, where we have dinner and break our journey to Scotland.

Sunday: After breakfast we re-board the coach and continue to our destination in the Trossachs.

Monday: Our day begins with a leisurely breakfast before we journey through the beautiful countryside to Inveraray Castle & Gardens, one of Scotland’s finest stately homes. There’s plenty to see, including the Clan Room, the French influenced Tapestry Drawing Room and the Victorian Room.

Tuesday: This morning we enjoy a relaxing cruise on Loch Katrine, we sit back and admire the beauty of the area, taking in views of Ben Nevis, Ellen’s Isle and Queen Victoria’s loch-side Royal Cottage. This afternoon we visit Callander where we have time at leisure, known as the ‘Gateway to the Highlands’ the scenery here is magnificent.

Wednesday: Today’s journey is to the visitor center of Scotland’s iconic landmark The Falkirk Wheel, which connects the Forth & Clyde Canals with the Union Canal, it is the world’s only rotating boat lift, raising boats 35 metres into the air it is a magnificent mechanical marvel using state of the art engineering. Our next destination gives us an excellent view of the huge 98 foot high horse-head sculptures, The Kelpies, completed in 2013, these fantastic pieces of art are a sight to behold and an incredible tribute to the horse powered heritage of Central Scotland.

Thursday: A scenic tour of lovely Loch Lomond, in the heart of The Trossachs National Park awaits us today. We are surrounded by charming villages, beautiful countryside and rolling hills. Our journey takes us through the postcard-pretty village of Luss where we pause before continuing our tour of the area.

Friday: We depart the hotel after breakfast, travelling into England where we retrace our steps back to East Anglia and home.

The Winnock Hotel, Drymen, is a three-star family-run hotel which dates back to the late 1700s, formerly a coaching inn it has been lovingly restored and extended. Rooms have TV, direct dial telephone and tea/coffee making facilities. This hotel does not have a lift but ground floor rooms are available, Wi-Fi is provided in public areas.
